I have always been surrounded by languages. I grew up in a trilingual environment dealing with 3 cultures and languages. My first employment was with Tetra Pak Canada (1986–1987). I did not have my degree then but I discovered languages in the workplace and ended up among other things translating speeches, internal documents and letters (this was before the internet), marketing documents… I then worked in a bilingual position for Canadian Paper and Packaging Co Ltd and after becoming Office Manager with them decided to go back to University and get a translation degree. My first ‘proper’ translation assignment was with Kmart translating all sales and marketing material, internal training documents and working in close contact with technical writers. I then moved on to Savin Canada where I translated sales documents, contracts, technical description of office equipment.. These types of experiences brought forth much more than just translation knowledge, in other words understanding people’s needs and expectation, interpreting and generally helping others communicate.
After nearly 9 years in Canada, I came back to France in 1995 and gained more experience working in bilingual positions for a big exporting mushroom farm, a computer company, an architectural building firm and a hospitality management school.
Since then I have been busy with my family but I now I have developped a good freelance business.
I am a very conscientious translator who will only take on an assignment that I know I can deliver to the highest quality and on schedule.
