Perché ha infilzato la testa sulle punte della cancellata come fecero i terroristi dell’Isis nel luglio del 2014 con decine di soldati siriani dopo aver occupato una base militare alla periferia di Raqqa?
Perché si è fatto il selfie con la testa mozzata prima di salire sull’auto-bomba per morire da “martire” inneggiando a “Allah è grande!”?
Tutto lascia presumere che Salhi è un terrorista “di emulazione”.
Agli inizi del 2000 era stato indottrinato all’ideologia della guerra santa islamica à Pontarlier dal convertito francese Frédéric Jean Salvi, ribattezzato “il grande Ali”, legato ad Al Qaeda.
Tra il 2006 e il 2008 la polizia lo considerò come pericoloso per i suoi legami con i terroristi islamici.
Poi abbassò la guardia.
Un errore fatale come quello commesso con i fratelli Kouachi, autori della strage alla redazione di Charlie Hebdo a Parigi il 7 gennaio scorso, rilasciati dal carcere, poi scomparsi nel nulla fino al giorno dell’attentato che ha scosso il mondo intero.
Loro morirono da “martiri”, così come fu il caso del loro complice Amedy Coulibaly, autore del massacro di quattro ebrei e una poliziotta.
Salhi, dato che è sopravvissuto, non potrà godere del Paradiso islamico promesso nel Corano: «Allah ha comprato dai credenti le loro vite e i loro beni dando in cambio il Paradiso, poiché combattono sul sentiero di Allah, uccidono e sono uccisi” (9, 111).
Salhi ha ucciso ma non è morto.
Non è un “martire”.
Per quanto ci riguarda, “martire” o meno, abbiamo la certezza che con il nemico in casa siamo sempre meno sicuri.

At the start of the year 2000, he was indoctrinated with the ideology of the holy war of Islam, by French convert Frédéric Jean Salvi - re-named “the great Ali” - in Pontarlier, located near the French-Swiss border.
Between 2006 and 2008 the police considered him to be dangerous because of his links with Islamic terrorists.
Then he let his guard down.
This was a fatal mistake, just like the one committed with the Kouachi brothers who carried out the attack on the offices of Charlie Hebdo in Paris last January 7. They were released from prison and vanished into thin air until the day of the attack which shook the entire world to its core.
They died as “martyrs”, as did their accomplice Amedy Coulibaly who killed four Jewish people and a policewoman.
Since Salhi survived, he will not be able to enjoy the pleasures of Islamic Paradise promised by the Quran: “Allah hath bought from the believers their lives and their wealth because the Garden will be theirs: they shall fight in the way of Allah and shall slay and be slain” (9:111).
Salhi killed but he did not die himself.
He is not a “martyr”.
As far as we are concerned, whether he is a “martyr” or not, we can be certain that with the enemy in our own back yard, we are becoming less and less safe.

Mitral valve repair surgery is preferred to replacement surgery, as it is a more natural method of restoring valvular function. Where a peripheral coronary artery bypass has to be performed, we condone the use of multiple arterial grafts. In cases where the great saphenous vein has to be used, the preferred method of removal is through small incisions in the lower tributaries. This gives a better cosmetic finish as well as ensuring the patient can be released more quickly after surgery. Treatment for permanent atrial fibrillation, combines ablation and plication of the dilated left atrium which is achieved either through a series of operations on the mitral valve or through a peripheral coronary artery bypass. In cases where aortic valve replacement surgery needs to be carried out in the presence of a moderately dilated aorta, the aorta is plicated rather than replaced.
Coronary Heart Surgery
The objective of these modern techniques is to ensure the speedier recovery of patients. Peripheral coronary artery bypass surgery, is carried out without connecting the patient to an extracorporeal blood circulation device. In addition to this, efforts are being made to ensure that as many patients as possible use the Intensive Care Unit as an intermediary resting point so that they can be transferred to the cardiothoracic surgery wing promptly on the day they are due to undergo surgery (Fast track cardiac surgery).

En este caso se debe a que siguió la técnica del modelo que, con bastante probabilidad, copió literalmente: las cabezas de los soldados franceses en el Tres de mayo en Madrid, de Goya, en particular del perfil del soldado en primer término, figura de la que tomó, asimismo, la actitud del gigante de espaldas. En el perfil del rostro, zona relativamente pequeña y concreta, el autor de El Coloso ha intentado imitar, con mayor facilidad que en la amplia superficie de la espalda, los efectos de la técnica avanzada de Goya, como son las pinceladas negras que contrastan con los toques de luz.

Translation - English “This painting, oppressive in the extreme, joins together sections where the paint has been spread using a spatula, details have been added with a subtlety that cannot be equalled...it is as if these three works of art had been painted with bare nerves; one could almost say that they are not paintings but blunt calls to one’s sensitivity, the fruit of prophetic “expressionism” . The figure’s head has been painted as inaccurately and clumsily as the rest of the body and demonstrates a lack of technical coherence, although its workmanship is different to that of the back and arm. This is because, in this case, the painter followed the technique employed in the figure he used as a model, which he most probably copied directly, namely the heads of the French soldiers in The Shootings of the Third of May in Madrid by Goya and in particular the profile of the soldier in the foreground, whose posture is emulated by the giant in The Colossus. To create the giant’s facial profile, a relatively small and clearly defined section, the painter of The Colossus has attempted, more successfully than in his depiction of the wide surface of the giant’s back, to imitate the advanced effects of Goya’s technique, such as the creation of contrast between the black brushstrokes and the highlighted sections.

at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Translation. I previously
worked for one of the Italian branches of STAR Group (https://www.star-group.net/en/home.html), a leading global language service
provider. I also worked as the lead translator and reviser for La Stampa in
English and was the single in-house translator and editor for the English
section of the Vatican Insider website, run by Italian national newspaper La
Stampa, a role I held for five years. During that time, I combined my work in
the newsroom with freelance translation and revision, using SDL Trados as my
main CAT tool. Give me any type of newspaper article in Italian, Spanish, Greek
or French and I can turn it into a beautifully written, accurate and
natural-sounding piece in English. My translations for La Stampa were
re-tweeted and reprinted by major newspapers such as “The Sunday Times” and I
