As a German native speaker my language pairs are French - German and English - German. I successfully completed my translation studies, a two years Master’s degree in professional business and technical translation, at the Parisian Translation School of the French University Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3 (Ecole Supérieure d’Interprètes et de Traducteurs - ESIT) in 2011.
During my studies I had the chance to experience legal translation within the framework of two internships: the first one at the terminology department of the French Ministries of Finance and Economy and the second one at the International Union of Railways in Paris.
Thanks to this job experience I became aware of my special interest in legal translation and my first job objective following my studies was to find a challenging translator’s position in an international law firm.
In November 2011 I began to work at the Franco-German law firm Endrös-Baum Associés in Paris as a translator and trilingual assistant. This job experience was the perfect opportunity to acquire a profound knowledge of the French and German law and to specialize in legal translation.
The observance of time limits is closely linked to the legal profession as well as to the translator’s vocation: During my three year’s job experience at the law-firm Endrös-Baum Associés, I learned to work under high pressure and to always observe the time limit set.
Concerning technical translation I have a very good knowledge of the specific fields of metallurgy, solar energy and agronomy.
Since October 2014 my new professional horizon has been the creation of my own translation business.
