cold / hot breakfast 일반 조식 / 따뜻한 조식 Explanation: Koreans do not really distinguish the breakfast type by temperature. So I searched for some recipes for hot/cold breakfast on google. It appears that a cold breakfast is something simple such as a bowl of cereal, smoothies, etc. while a hot breakfast involves cooking with fire. Therefore, I would like to suggest: hot breakfast - 따뜻한 조식 (warm breakfast) cold breakfast - 일반 조식 (normal breakfast) Example sentence(s):

cold / hot breakfast 차가운 요리 / 따뜻한 요리 Explanation: Koreans don't distinguish breakfast between cold or hot. It sounds strange a little. But Koreans use the word 'cold meals' or 'hot meals'. So I think that the Korean words '차가운 요리' or '따뜻한 요리' which means 'cold meals' or 'hot meals' will be suitable more. Example sentence(s):

양식 요리/한식 요리 Explanation: Hi Levente I am afraid it is wrong, strange, and queer but a bit interesting English expression for Western food and Korean food. I've never seen describing foods like cold breakfast and hot breakfast. My guess is that the owner or chef of the restaurant was trying to distinguish 한식 요리 which carry 밥 (boiled rice)and 국(+/- soup) or 찌개 (pot stew). As you might know,밥,국 and 찌개 should be hot. They can't be cold anyhow. But 양식 요리 (cold breakfast +/-) can be cold except soup. This is my rough guess as I haven't witnessed cold and hot breakfast(or dinner) anywhere. |
