Bio

I am originally from New York but have lived in Tokyo, Japan, for more than 20 years. Due to COVID, I have switched from office work to teleworking.


I hope to mostly engage in transcription services and to use my Japanese ability where applicable including in translation projects. My rates are very reasonable and discounts are available for repeat requests. I am available for other types of work as well.


I have degrees in computer science and philosophy with respective minors in physics and linguistics. I have governmental certifications in Japanese language, Japanese written language and translation.


My part-time study subjects over the past 30 years include Eastern and Western psychology and philosophy, music and musicology, math, art, sociology, film analysis, criminology, and many others.


My interests are far-ranging, from the history of culinary techniques to mixed martial arts, from esoteric consciousness practices and systems to engineering mathematics and meteorology.
