你说“中国人没有类似的传说”，又过分自信了吧？亏你还在本专题第一帖中就提到了“螭吻”。那么，什么是“螭吻”？螭吻是 dragon 还是 loong？

Why not ask for more info and see what happens? :)

I mean, sure, it could be a scam, and our spidey senses are always worth noting, but honestly I see nothing at this stage that is unequivocal proof one way or the other.
In fact, for me, the point that raises most eyebrows has passed almost unmentioned. Sure, AI could have been used to generate the email, "reaching out" makes me want to punch people too, I know some people assume bad faith when they see gmail (I've been using it for 20 years mind you). But email on a Saturday? Yeah, bit odd. Unless of course they are catching up by working at home without access to the company email system, and they're having to do that because they are new, and slow (and so don't have an in-depth profile anywhere).

Bit devil's advocate-y for sure (and from me, who first proposed the Scams sub-forum a million years ago :) ) but why not respond briefly? If it is dodgy, then the info that ne'er-do-wells are starting to approach from more than one angle at once might be valuable.

金龙汽车公司很早就这样翻译自己的名称了：King Long。

King 的发音和“金”相近，Long 应该是“龙”的汉语拼音。

这两个单词又是英文里的常用单词，虽然外国人读出来的意思是“国王长久”，不是“金色的中国龙”，但是毕竟是一个有正面含义的外文名字。

这和可口可乐、巧克力、麦当劳、Byejoe、Loong Tide Top、New Road Man 等等一样，不是单纯的音译，而可以称之为“文学音译”。

As is "reaching out" - if it's not a scam, it's a bottom feeder.

Lots of individual/private clients use Gmail, though. It's only suspicious if the sender purports to be a business.

利用外语现有单词重新组合，是一种很好的音译策略，例如 Byejoe（白酒）。正因为不按照拼音字母规则音译，于是成为一个独特的词汇，在音译的同时也构成了“商家自己的品牌名称”，一箭双雕，一举两得，何乐不为？台湾人如果把“牛肉面”音译成 New Road Men，其字面含义是“新路男”，说不定能在英语世界大火起来，就好像音译“可口可乐”、“麦当劳”等等一样。

2，杜拉根醒来后摧毁世界

1906年4月18日 , 美国旧金山发生 8.3 级地震，并引发火灾，大火持续了好几天，四分之三城区成为废墟，死亡数千人 [1]。这是美国遭遇的最严重的自然灾害。图 1-12-5 是 2008 年出版的一本书，描述这场地震，书名为 The Earth Dragon Awakes（地下的杜拉根醒了）。

美国电影 Reign of Fire（图1-12-6，中文片名为“火龙帝国”）的故事情节 [2] 如下：

2008 年，伦敦地铁的工地上，工人们挖出了一个地下洞穴，里面有一头巨大的杜拉根在冬眠。它被惊醒后，喷火烧死建筑工人，逃了出去。随后杜拉根就陆续出现了，并迅速繁殖。

科学家们发现，正是这种杜拉根喷火烧死了恐龙，使它们灭绝了。科学家认为这种杜拉根每次消灭掉地球上的大部分生物之后，就会去冬眠，直至地球上再次出现大量生物。影片在这里回顾了历史上关于杜拉根的传说，同时交替出现各种杜拉根和西方武士杀死它们的古代绘画。

笔者在观看影片时惊讶地发现：在各种杜拉根的画面中夹杂着一头中国龙。显然，因为中国龙也被称为 dragon，于是获得了忝列其中的荣耀。然而，中国的龙没有翅膀，和杜拉根显然不同，但这没有难倒这部电影的制作者，他们给中国龙来了个头部特写，于是有没有翅膀的问题就被绕开了。

影片随后描写杜拉根在全球肆虐，烧毁城市，烧死人类。十二年之后，2020 年。英国只剩下一些幸存者，首领是奎恩（Quinn），他们住在诺森伯兰郡的一个城堡中。他们非常饥饿，冒险外出收割粮食则会受到杜拉根的袭击。此时来了一队美国人，为首的是凡赞（Van Zan）。奎恩和凡赞合作，杀死了一头袭击他们的杜拉根。凡赞告诉奎恩：他们过去遇到的杜拉根都是母的。他们认为只有一头杜拉根是雄性的，如果杀死了它，杜拉根就无法继续繁衍了。奎恩认为，最初在地铁工地被惊醒的就是那头杜拉根。

于是凡赞带人去伦敦寻找那头杜拉根，但手下的人全部被它杀死了。这头杜拉根随后循迹找到奎恩等人所在的城堡，杀死了很多人，只有躲在地下掩体中的一些人侥幸活了下来，因为恐惧，儿童们不停地尖叫。

奎恩终于决定和凡赞一起去伦敦，寻找那头雄性杜拉根。他们看到几百只杜拉根在伦敦的废墟上漫天飞舞，场面令人毛骨悚然。

他们还目睹了这头庞大的杜拉根吃掉体型较小的杜拉根。在进攻这头大杜拉根时，凡赞牺牲了。最后，奎恩用弓弩将炸药射入杜拉根的嘴巴，杀死了它。

整部电影拍得非常惊险逼真，片中杜拉根的体型非常巨大，力量非常强大，人类在它面前毫无招架之力，而且它们非常强壮，即使用核武器也无法彻底消灭它们。

中国的象征是龙，西方媒介常把中国的崛起形容为“龙醒了”，而龙又被译为 dragon。因此“火龙帝国”这种电影会给西方人带来什么样的联想，是可想而知的。

2005年6月26日，华盛顿时报（The Washington Times）发表了一篇文章，描写中国军事力量的增长速度超过了美国情报和军事分析家的预期。这篇文章的标题就是 Chinese dragon awakens [1]（中国龙醒了，图 1-12-7）。

2008 年 5 月 10 日，英国独立报（The Independent）发表文章 The dragon awakens: China, how did it happen? [2]（龙醒了：中国，这一切是怎么发生的？）

2009 年 1 月 6 日，加拿大全球化研究中心（The Centre for Research on Globalisation，图 1-12-7，网页截图：CRG）发表文章，题为：The Great Dragon Chinese dragon awakens（中国龙醒了），The Washington Times，2005 年 6 月 26 日。Awakens: China Challenges American Hegemony（巨龙醒来：中国挑战美国的势力范围）。[3]

2012年，美国“阴谋观察”组织（Conspiracy Watch，CW）撰文谈论中国控制全世界的计划（China's Plan to Takeover the World）[4]，文章配图是一条苏醒的龙，图上还写着“China, The Awakening Dragon（中国，正在醒来的龙，图 1-12-8）。

文章强调中国拥有世界上最庞大的军队，而且已经是最强大的国家，然后说：“China is not satisfied to merely surpass the US economy; it has already begun a campaign to takeover the US and the world in its entirety. It is a mad grab for power that many have tried before, from Attila the Hun, Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar, to Napoleon and Hitler.”（中国并不满足于仅仅超过美国经济，它已经开始了接管美国和全世界的行动。这是一场对权力的疯狂追求。之前很多人都曾经这样尝试过：从匈奴王、亚历山大大帝、凯撒大帝，到拿破仑和希特勒。）

In the past when I got an e-mail with a @gmail.com address, I could immediately delete it as having a high risk of being a scam.
But yesterday I received the same message from a @gmail.com address, mentioning my Proz.com profile, the sender has herself a Proz.com profile too, but not with a lot of information; on the same day I was contacted via the message function on LinkedIn by the same person, and that person has a LinkedIn profile too, but also with not a lot of information; and she also wanted to connect with me on LinkedIn.
That's a bit puzzling. Those gmail scammers usually only send an e-mail, and that's it.
This one is different.
Do they use AI agents nowadays to make false profiles and send messages around nowadays?
She wanted me to work for her, and the work offered is also typical for scammers.
