Struggling? No! I’m experiencing the same ups and downs as usual. What I’m noticing is that the negotiation of some large projects is taking much longer than it used to…

Not at all. Feb 17, 2023

I have plenty of work on my own, and can usually handle it all as long as several clients don't all turn up at the same time. However, my colleague has been in a bit of a slump since COVID, so whenever I can I try to pass some work on to her.

I'm not struggling, except to finish a sewing project that I started during a most welcome short lull.

Freelancer: "Aha, my schedule is showing almost no work for the next week and a half! I'll have a few days digging into that hobby / work project / exercise program I've been thinking about for the past couple of months!" (Rubs hands together in delighted anticipation)

Client, 24 hours later: "Can you complete this 40,000-character project in 10 days?"

Always works.

Not the best months Feb 17, 2023

January and February are not ever the best months but this year has been quite good.

No, not at the moment Feb 17, 2023

I'm currently working on an interesting project on unmanned aircraft systems extending over a couple of months, so I'm kept quite busy.

Like Kay, I struggled to find time to complete a sewing project instead, because my little kid wants to be a firefighter for the carnival event at her kindergarten and I decided she should have a homemade costume.

January was slow as usual, getting started after the holidays. February has been very busy. Right now I'm ALSO struggling to finish a huge project, I've gotten a couple of new clients but I'm waiting to get PAID! The usual feast and famine.

Dec/Jan I was slammed with work Feb 22, 2023

But now in mid-February I haven't heard a peep from my usual clients, which hasn't happened to me for at least a year. I'm guessing because many of my clients are at fashion week in Milan.

Not really but Feb 23, 2023

Not really but I *am* struggling with a couple of potentially big, interesting, lucrative jobs that are dangled in front of me (like a carrot being dangled in front of a donkey) but have so far failed to materialise.

This is not only frustrating; it makes it difficult for me to plan my other work in such a way that if one of these "potential" jobs materialises, I will still be able to take it on without having to say "no" to my other clients.
