Dutch as can be, with a little twist of Germany and Belgium on the side.
The fascination with languages began in my early childhood. As a child we watched German television with my mother, and in high school, the foreign languages were a breeze. That is where the translation of texts for others began. After moving to Germany to work as an Air Force Officer, I followed a number of courses and after my return to the Netherlands I started at the International School for Interpreters and Translation. I was not able to finish this due to the severe illness of my eldest daughter, because health is paramount. My medical and technical knowledge, however, I knew to keep.
Now I'm the proud mother of 5 children and I work diligently on medical and technical translations from English and German into Dutch. Both languages have their charms for me. I like magic with words. |
