Thanks! I actually needed the Hebrew equivalent to "Circuito de Panamá", and the English question was meant to support my Hebrew rendering. Thanks!
Sandro Tomasi Jul 1, 2014:
1. A district, a circuit, they’re both areas. In US federal courts, e.g., districts are made up smaller areas (NY State has four) and several districts combine to make one circuit (which includes several states).

2. It would be nice, just out of curiosity, to clear up whether this is a circuito notarial or judicial. The overall context of the document would make it obvious which “circuit” it pertains to.

3. I don't think it’s necessary to add “notarial” or “judicial” in the TL.
Charles Davis Jul 1, 2014:
@ mamelushen This is a "circuito notarial", it's not a judicial circuit or district at all. Panama calls its notarial districts "circuitos", and the term "notarial circuit" is quite often used in relation to Panama, but it's just a calque of the Spanish and I think it's the wrong term to use. The standard term for a notarial area is "district", and I think the appropriate translation is "notarial district". These are certainly not called "circuits" in the US or in any other English-speaking country, to my knowledge.

As it's a notarial deed, I don't think you need the "judicial" part.
