I'd split it into a separate sentence for clarity. E.G. "2.58% say it is for failing to use condoms. The majority of these respondents were male."
Or "2.58%, male respondents predominantly, say it is for failing to use condoms."
It's natural to say "predominantly male/female" but that opens up potential misreadings. "males/females predominating" is accurate but clumsy.

Thanks Neil. Years ago things were simpler, I'd cheerfully have said "predominantly male" and everybody would have taken it at face value.
