Flemish term

voorzienbare hindernis

Flemish to English Law/Patents Law (general) uittreksel strafregister
This term appears in an excerpt from a Belgian judicial record. The person in question received a conviction for 'voorzienbare hinderhis' and a brief driving ban.

A 1:1 translation here seems most inappropriate for the Canadian English target audience. Even if the proposed solution relates to a UK or US setting, then I can compare it against the local system to verify or identify the proper term. Prompt feedback appreciated.
Proposed translations (English)

Discussion

Robert Kleemaier (asker) Apr 15, 2013:
@ writeaway & Michael Sorry, folks, but there's not really much context. Nonetheless, here's what I've got:

"[datum] Politierechtbank [stad]
Voorzienbare hindernis X EUR of Yd VR"

Whereby 'd' = 'dagen' & 'VR' = 'vervangend rijverbod'. HTH.
Michael Beijer Apr 14, 2013:
re: 'avoidable obstruction' voorzienbare < voorzien = foresee (to know in advance; be aware of beforehand; predict);

synonyms: anticipate; expect; foreknow; divine; envision; plan

'Avoidable' is something different than 'voorzienbare'.

'avoidable' = 'vermijdbaar'
Michael Beijer Apr 14, 2013:
agree with writeaway descriptions are good, but it's always better to provide as much of the actual context as possible...
writeaway Apr 14, 2013:
the actual sentence in Dutch could be helpful.
Michael Beijer Apr 13, 2013:
foreseeable obstruction the first thing that springs to mind
