Seedlings shadegrown/put underneath shade tents until they are planted out
Shadegrowing is mainly used for tobacco plants. The cotton-cloth tents prevent them from too strong sun radiation and evaporation.

"Sets" are the seedlings or rooted cuttings that are set out/planted out in the field. Obviates seedlings/rooted cuttings and species problems (if 12 months, may be bushes & trees as well). Can't remember where I found the term, so maybe check it out.
