Italian term

compensi maturati

Italian to English Law/Patents Law: Patents, Trademarks, Copyright clinical trials contracts
This phrase appears in a contract between a sponsor, hospital and university for carrying out a clinical drug trial. This document spells out everyone's obligations and rights, and discusses in detail who gets paid and when for the work done. In the section on early termination/discontinuation of the study, there are two places where this "compensi maturati" term appears:

"All'Azienda e all'Universita' spettera' il rimborso delle spese ... relative alla parte di sperimentazione gia' effetuata ed i *compensi maturati* fino al momento dello scioglimento contrattuale."

"Il pagamento dei *compensi maturati* fino al momento della resoluzione del contratto dovra' avvenire contestualmente al pagamento a titolo di rimborsi costi."

I have a guess or two, but I'm really out of my depth with financial terminology and would appreciate your expert help!

Grazie 10,000.

accrued fees

There is a discussion of the term here: http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=1976946

There are lots of Google references to interesse maturati meaning accrued interest. I believe accrued fees would be the phrase you are looking for.

compensation payable; compensation due and payable; compensation accrued and payable

"compensation" is compensation to the investigator or the investigator's organization, or other person or entity owed compensation.

rewards accrued

I like the word accrued best
Note from asker:
Ciao Raffaela. I think the word "accrued" is really the best one, and for English the words "fees" or "compensation" are more appropriate than "rewards". Thank you also for your suggestion.
