Proposed translations
(UK: SA > Self-Assessment IT) Return of Income & Deductions (incl. Expenses, Reliefs & Allowances)
Self-assessment - now online with all the teething troubles and disappearing returns - had been introduced years ago by the UK Inland Revenue (HMRC > Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs) to shift the burden of work away from put-upon tax clerks (hard-drinking, I knew quite a few) and onto the taxpayer.
Deductions could include a multitude of tax-reducting claims, including - but not confined to - business and home-carers'/ nursing expenses, tax reliefs and allowances. Possibly tax exemptions are not included in the picture as they are not strictly deductions.
However, confusingly, an 'inheritance-tax nil-band' is not an exemption, but a multiplier by 0%! (the reason being that such multiplication triggers other kinds of 'concessions').
Self Assessment tax returns - deadlines, who must send a tax return, penalties, corrections, paying your tax bill and returns for someone who has died.
