It's not completely 100% sure, as there may be some other words that fit the context better. However, a 'rebarbadora', is a 'deburrer', and a deburrer does what - deburrs! 'Smooths' the rough edges.
I certainly wouldn't say 'smooth' though (unless you're talking about the bed linen, yes :).
