Spanish term

aproximación cronológica

Spanish to English Social Sciences Archaeology underwater cultural heritage
Ok this is about time and space and the relationship with archaeological info / findings. Chronological approach is my take but not sure if there is anything better. Suggestions appreciated

You are trying to get an approximation of chrolnological time or a rough idea of the time/period...

argh typo ist line approximation. At least it's OK in header!

anyway,I think it's better to use "approximation" rather than "approach" as the latter chnges the meaning.

OK I've had more coffee... and see I actually made the typo above in

chrolnological>chronological ...

and in

chnges>changes

approximate time window; rough timeframe

It is important to locate these findings in their period, and to arrive at an approximate/ rough time window in absolute and relative time;

On reflection, " locate" = 'ubicar' = "place" in this context;

neutral Yvonne Gallagher : I already said "rough idea of the time/period"

I can't think of any "better" options. If it waddles and quacks like a duck...

NB: I don't really agree with Gallagy 's comment but am not going to "meh" it directly out of respect.
