The translation I delivered is: "What do you think will be the next big thing we'll be able to do on the Internet?", which is your suggestion, plus one word.

Christine, I feel really bad here, cos I was actually awarding you the points earlier, and suddenly thought: well actually, what I delivered here is Noni’s suggestion - word for word. So surely Noni deserves the points?

And now I don’t know what to do?! (Typical bloke!)

What does anyone else think? (Come on Phil, help me out)

I actually went with your suggestion Noni, almost word-for-word; but couldn't resist adding BIG - I just couldn't not include it! Agree with you over there being tautology. But you could put "in the future" at the beginning, as in Patricia R's suggestion.
Agree with both Patricia S and Christine over the fact that it cd be development which is not necessarily a big thing, but is innovative.
Agree with Phil about that singular.

My inclination is that it's pointing at sth functional (se podrá hacer) - doing your bank transfers, sending e-mails, booking tickets are the things that have sprung to my mind.

A 1984esque idea might be following your children's movements (your computer tracks their phone, in the same way as cars can be traced)... At the moment I am fairly confident that they are playing in the garden though!!

I was thinking along the lines of all the "big" things currently on the internet: Google, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. That's why I included the word "big". My understanding is that the question is asking what the next big thing similar to these services will be... I base this assumption on what's available on the internet today, and what people have become accustomed to.

Hello James, I don't think your option means quite the same thing. The next big thing may be a game, for instance - The original is more in the line of what you'll be able to do/solve via the Internet in the future, I.M.O.
