At least in Mexico, the word is used in Spanish as "drive". For example, they say "drive A", "drive Zip" "drive E","drive CD-ROM" (which a lot of people in Mexico wrongly pronounce as "CD-ROOM"), etc. However, for "hard drive", they usually say "disco duro" or "lo copias a C", for example.

Me parece que el término correcto es "unidad", independientemente del país. "Drive" se utiliza coloquialmente, pero el término técnico correcto es "unidad".
Basta ver temas relacionados en la Ayuda de Windows en español. Por ejemplo:
"Para dar formato a un disco
1. Si está formateando un disquete, insértelo en la unidad.
2. En Mi PC o en el panel derecho del Explorador de Windows, haga clic en el icono del disco que desee formatear.
3. En el menú Archivo, haga clic en Formatear."
