Hello everyone

First of all, may I take this opportunity to thank you all very much for signing up and expressing an interest in the planned Spring Drinks night in Edinburgh this Friday, 8 April. It's great to see such an enthusiastic response to my invitations from so many translators, and to see so many new names and faces.

Unfortunately, and to my great regret, I have this morning tested positive for Covid-19, and am therefore now self-isolating in line with statutory requirements.

As a result, I feel I have no option but to postpone this planned event until a later date. I am more sorry than I can say about this. In over seven years of organising powwows, this is the first time I have had to cancel due to illness. While there is a slight chance I might test negative on Friday, I would not want to put my fellow translators at risk of infection, as I am sure you understand (and would agree with!).

I will of course arrange an alternative date as soon as I can. Please look out for the signup invitation, and I hope to see you at the rearranged event within the next few weeks.
