Kind words from ProZ.com members

I found ProZ.com quite useful initially (the term search, KudoZ, the glossaries, etc.), but it really came into its own when I became a paying member. Now, nearly all of my jobs come through my ProZ.com profile, and through repeat requests from regular clients, and I can't remember the last time I actually bid for a job.

The Blue Board is extremely useful for filtering out undesirable clients (bad/slow payers) - a feature that is only available to full members, but it is worth its weight in gold.

ProZ.com has been the greatest marketing tool I've used. My investment paid off really quickly and now I have more and better clients.

Paid membership at ProZ.com has been a good investment in the last 1-2 years. Several agencies have contacted me with offers, some of which I have taken up.

It has always been very useful for me. I would recommend anyone to join ProZ.com. I got there some of my most exciting jobs. I even became a supplier for interpreting services for a very big multinational through ProZ.com.

About 90% of my clients have come from ProZ.com. I really don’t have a presence there and barely open the page, but the directory works and the right people have contacted me over the years.

Once I discovered ProZ.com, I immediately became a member and started to reply to job offers. Now, thanks to ProZ.com I have many good clients all over the world.Thanks to ProZ.com my dream of becoming a full-time freelance translator has come true, together with a good income. I get occasional approaches through my ProZ.com profile, which in itself makes it worthwhile, because one smallish job covers your membership fee. I also use the invoicing feature and free website hosting, so it saves me money in those areas. As others have said the Blue Board is useful and could help you avoid some major headaches. ProZ.com also has a very high rating in Google, so your profile or KudoZ questions you have asked or answered (which will link through to your profile) are likely to come up in web searches, thereby increasing your visibility.

This past year has been great. I woke up one morning deciding to go back to translating full time but I was not 100% sure that my decision was the right one. I left my "safe" English teaching job and recontacted my old clients. It didn't take long and I was soon back on track. Thanks to ProZ I have made contacts with new agencies around the world. I have to say that getting jobs (and, more importantly, regular clients) via ProZ.com worked a treat for me ... it's not that big an investment if you want to run a business.

Avant tout, ProZ.com représente pour moi une plate-forme d’échanges internationale permettant de côtoyer d’autres traducteurs via les forums et les formations. J’apprécie également la possibilité de pouvoir obtenir des informations sur les agences de traduction et les donneurs d’ordre en général grâce au Blue Board (certes non exhaustif, mais ô combien utile !), et de l’aide en cas de besoin avec les KudoZ. De plus, grâce à ProZ.com, j’ai trouvé un client avec lequel je travaille régulièrement : espérons que cela ne soit que le début d’une longue série!

I have joined the ProZ community in March this Year, and believe me in just 3 months I have felt like being a part of a family which is always there to support me for my betterment. I really like ProZ.com and I should’ve joined this platform much earlier. Since joining I've learned so much, from setting up my profile to being more knowledgeable about rates and dealing with agencies or clients.
