This is describing the procedure for processing resin in a synthesizer. Could it be a typo? It appears exactly like this in a pdf of the company manual.

Thank you Ellen - I appreciate your time on this; I had already tried that (démoçage) and nothing relevant comes up in my searches. I also tried défonçage but that would be two typos and I doubt that being likely.

agree Irene McClure : I think it must be something along these lines - there are enough hits for "Fmoc" (although not "DeFmoc"!) in relation to peptide synthesis to make this likely.
