[This is my last question from a 35,000 word project. ]
I thought I had figured this one out but now I am thinking it is a French, not an English acronym and cannot be sure. Here it is in the only context and in its only appearance in the contract:

Création d'une alarme détection anti intrusion dans le hall et report d'alarmes sur GRP

Any suggestions would be welcomed - after two weeks, my brain is locked on this.

Status report ... mm has provided a great suggestion through expertise that I believe to be quite convincing. However, I am awaiting the client's input and then can be more responsible for the glossary entry. So stay tuned ... and many thanks to all of you for your input and patience.

mm - you are correct that the term will be in English but it will also be in French. Once we all decide on the final term, both the French and English words and acronyms (if the acronyms have different letters) will end up in the glossaries here. If people do a two-way search (the way I usually do) they will find the term in either language. My concern is that there may be some arcane acronym in French (GRP) that turns out to be something completely different in English. I just want to be sure I cover all possibilities, even if it turns out that the acronym is indeed GRP as you have so kindly clarified.

Your document may be in French but the term (the full term - not just the abbrev.) that'll end up in the glossary will be in eng (assuming my answer is correct, of course...). So, for the benefit of future generations it should surely be eng-->fre...?

The document is in French. I had thought this might be the first letters of an English acronym but I think it may just as likely be the first letters for a French acronym. The answer suggested looks good, but I think it would be best to keep the pair French to English. MTIA!
