A bunch of people moved forward.
"Wait, you're only five."
"The sixth is on his way", a woman said, giving him the full **benefit** of a glorious lipstick smile.
"Sorry, full tables only."

: A lipstick smile should mean a glossy ("shiny") smille (pls, correct me if I'm wrong). However, a "sourire maquillé" would probably sound slightly awkward

J'aime bien aussi "lèvres apprêtées", c'est plus recherché, mais je ne suis pas sûr que cela convienne au style de votre texte.

Je parlais évidemment de l'adjectif, pas du verbe. "Au fig. [En parlant d'une pers. ou d'un de ses attributs] Dépourvu de naturel; qui indique un manque de spontanéité et de simplicité"
