Jill sta imparando qualche ricetta ‘mediterranea’ ma dalle sue parti vanno avanti a wurstel e patatine! La mia carbonara se la sognano…
Is the writer making a joke of this. 'My carbonara makes her dream about them' (i.e. the wurstel and chips), because it's so bad?
I'd appreciate any thoughts on this.
Best wishes
Louise

The important thing is not that the writer cooks a great carbonara but that those other people can only taste it in their dreams.

Note from asker:
Many thanks Tom. Do you think I could say 'nothing compares to my spaghetti carbonara'? or 'I cook a mean carbonara', something like that? Many thanks, Lilly. |

: not necessarily spaghetti though.

I'm saying spaghetti because the non-Italian reader who perhaps knows nothing about Italian food might not have any idea what "alla carbonara" means.
