Istotne jest również ustalenie średniego położenia i zakresu głosu, zwanego też zakresem częstotliwości podstawowej w tonacji (fundamental frequency range in phonation – FFR). Średnie położenie głosu określa tę wysokość dźwięku, w której zakresie głos w czasie mowy porusza się i nieznacznie odchyla się ku górze lub dołowi od 4 do 8 półtonów. Znajduje się ono najczęściej w obrębie 1/3 dolnej części zakresu głosu i wynosi u mężczyzn od a do e, u dzieci i kobiet od a do e1. Średnie położenie głosu dla mężczyzn wynosi 128 Hz (c), dla kobiet 256 Hz (c1); przeciętny zakres głosu wynosi od 1,5 do 2 oktaw; u śpiewaków głos może obejmować nawet zakres do 3,5 oktawy, rzadko powyżej 4 oktaw. Zakresy przeciętnych głosów męskich (bas, baryton, tenor) i kobiecych (alt, mezzosopran, sopran) zostały przedstawione na ryc. 3. oraz w tab. 2. [Frank i in.], natomiast na ryc. 4. przedstawiono częstość występowania tych zakresów.

Is habitual pitch the same as fundamental frequency?

The term “habitual pitch” is frequently used to indicate the average pitch or speaking fundamental frequency (SFF) that is used by an individual. Relatively little attention has been given to the amount of SFF variation that might be expected in a series of samples taken over an extended period of time.

The average habitual fundamental frequency during oral reading was converted into a value on the ETS. The distance, in semi-tones, between the habitual pitch and the lowest non-fry pitch was then calculated by the use of the Lewis (1960) formula presented above. Finally, to determine the location of the habitual pitch in relation to the entire vocal pitch range, the distance in semi-tones between the habitual pitch and the lowest producible pitch was divided by the number of semi-tones in the total pitch range.
