Hi all
I have found various translations for the above term (including 'executives', 'trade union representatives' and simply 'staff members') and am unsure which to use in the following context (from a chemical company intranet page):
'Voor meer details, verwijzen wij u naar de lijst van arbeiders, bedienden en kaderleden'
I would appreciate any advice you might have. Thanks in advance.

My Legal Lexicon shows that this is the term used for kaderleden in the Flemish language, as I assume this is a Flemish text, judging from the word "bedienden".

Sorry, forgot to add, the Juridisch Lexicon (Van den End) gives as translation for the Belgian "Bond van bedienden, technici en kaderleden" (BBTK): "Union of Office Workers, Technicians and Senior Employees".

: Agree with this, altough I think the term 'lower/junior management' would maybe be better as this is still about team leaders, supervisors, etc. Flemish, indeed, but I think the Dutch may use 'Middenkader' (see Wikipedia)

Incorrect Alexander! If you look at Van Dale, you will find under "Senior" - in addition to your suggestion - "hooggeplaatst, hoofd-". Just check it.

: Can't agree. Management teams are higher executives. Kaderleden are not higher executives but team leaders and equivalent./ That may well be, but being Flemish I know for a fact that a kaderlid is by no means an executive.

Kaderleden are "higher management" and often referred to as executives.

: This is perfectly OK - I usually translate it as managers. But you're quite wrong to disagree with Willemina's "senior employes" - I'm a native speaker, and seniority has nothing to do with length of service.
