Willem Dubelaar Aug 4, 2009:
I suspect the code is proprietary to the accounting software used by that particular bank. If the digit below M is always 0 or 1, it could stand for debit or credit. Sorry, no further ideas...
Sandrine Savarit (asker) Aug 4, 2009:
Was issued in Belgium actually.
Willem Dubelaar Aug 4, 2009:
M could stand for Mutatie; from which country is the statement? Even though in Dutch, it could be from another country than NL.
philgoddard Aug 4, 2009:
In that case, I give up! Sorry. I would just put 'unknown abbreviation".
Sandrine Savarit (asker) Aug 4, 2009:
Nr Mun-M-Aard is one column. Underneath: 003-0-000
philgoddard Aug 4, 2009:
OK, so what's underneath the M?
Sandrine Savarit (asker) Aug 4, 2009:
Actually, that's a mistake!!! code is Mun-M-Aard. sorry !
philgoddard Aug 4, 2009:
Is "A" a column heading on its own? What's underneath it?
Sandrine Savarit (asker) Aug 4, 2009:
hi, thanks for that. Yes, it's a coolumn heading. docuemnt is called "Saldo van een rekening". Next columns are SAldo / Dat.uit./Vor.uit./Beschikbaar
philgoddard Aug 4, 2009:
We could do with more context. Is it column headings? Nr is probably number, Mun could be muntsoort = currency and aard is type. I don't know what the A is for.

N° Currency - A - Type

I have contacted the bank which uses this sequence.
They confirmed that:
Mun = Munteenheid i.e. Currency (specific code per currency)
Aard = Type (type of account, i.e. savings, current,...)
A is a type of classification, which can be adopted in target language.
