Dutch term

graanmeikever

Dutch to English Science Zoology type of beetle
Hello all,

I've been fairly successful recently with discovering new insect names . . . but this one has eluded me. Any ideas?

. . . die de doeltreffenheid hebben aangetoond van een product dat sporen van een zwam tegen de larven van de graanmeikever, die in de grond leven en vooral tegen de beetwortelworm.

Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Jun 2, 2005:
Thank you so much for this great research . . . perhaps this might also be a 'June bug', as it is known in some (well, at least one) countries. It also looks like a scarab . . .
Non-ProZ.com Jun 2, 2005:
Note--the verb is missing in the clause (dat sporen . . . ) Also missing in the original.

The fat white larval stage of the Cockchafer Beetle is quite destructive to cereal and other grass plant roots.
They are usually found in rough grazing or cereal crops and in new gardens.
