They're an illiterate bunch out there on the web! I just checked the first page of Google hits for "escillate" and I identified every one as a mis-spelling (probably not exactly a typo, as you say) of "escalate", except for a few forum posts that I couldn't really understand! That's what the internet is about - it isn't just for us language professionals

Thank you all OK. My first impression was also it looked like a typing error.
<br>I made a Google-research on the term "escilate" and it seemed to me that the term appeared quite too frequently to be simply misspelled... moreover the "i" is quite far from the "a" on a keyboard!

But well, in the absence of any other suggestion, I will have to go along with the general opinion :-)

Hmmm... ... as I understand it, the system refers unresolved (or unresolvable) situations up to a 'higher authority' (hence 'escalate') for processing, in much the same was as in a human context a secretary will handle routine enquiries him/herself but will refer specialist enquiries to his/her boss. So, 'requests' rather than 'notifications' - although the eventual resolution of a request by the higher authority may indeed trigger the issue of a notification to interested parties.
