: Marketing - Tourism & Travel / Hotel => Hotel NOT restaurant; not all hotels include a restaurant, and the BOH for a hotel wouldn't be "une cuisine" + if these are architectural drawings it could literally be "the house" seen from the back

: Daryo is right: the context given does not suggest this is purely a restaurant situation. A much more general term is needed to translate the generic terms in this s/t.

I don't know if these are actually 'ofificial' terms that would be used in this context and register — but they certainly convey the idea, and 'les coulisses' is certainly used informally to describe the areas where the public doesn't go.

In response to Ph_B's kind suggestion of 'lobby' / 'office' — no, I don't believe those terms could be used here, as they are too specific and hence restrictive: 'foh' includes, but is not restircted to the lobby, and boh ditto with 'office'
FoH means ALL eareas where the public might go, where one expects more spacious corridors, perhaps a higher standard of finish, carepting, etc.; whereas BoH means all those service eras the public is never meant to see, which may be scruffier, less well appointed, and almost certainly more confined.
I did a lot of work on Queen Elizabeth ii, where the FoH décor was fairly plush; but go through the door into the crew areas, and the corrdiors were tiny, literally hardly room to swing a cat, and very utilitarian, painted meatl bulkheads, exposed pipework, the lot... a very marked illustration of the 'Upstairs, Downstairs' phenomenon.

: Plausible quant au sens, mais il doit y avoir d'autres termes./P.-ê. « Espace Accueil » ? « Lobby » ? et « Office » pour le 2e ? Ces termes sont employés sur les sites d'aménagement d'hôtels.

Merci, Ph-b ! Yes, i'm 100% sure of the sense, but as you say, I think these are highly informal terms we use in the industry, but not entirely appropriate for the context here!
