French term

éclissage par boulonnage

French to English Tech/Engineering Aerospace / Aviation / Space
re aircraft engine pylon mountings

"De préférence, l’assemblage des quatre parties de préforme entre-elles s’effectue par soudage laser ou par éclissage par boulonnage."

"éclissage" translates as "fish plating" and "boulonnage" as "bolting". But the specific phrases "fish plating by bolting" and "bolted fish plating" turn up nothing on Google. Anyone suitably knowledgeable know how to say this?

See Fig 112 http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/publications/research/infrastructure...
If that matches the arrangement "fishplate connection" is ok.
kashew May 9, 2011:
Fishplating is a specifically permanent-way term - as far as I know.

neutral kashew : intergallactic railways?// I think by definition fiishplates are bolted, but if you insist on fishplates for this context I'm not arguing.
