marine fish habitats - reefs
Creation of artificial reefs for establishment of fish populations.
I have found "shelves" but I would like confirmation as to whether this is the correct translation.

: Your reference relates to supermarkets, and I'm pretty sure it's a mistranslation for shelves.

tract
From what I understand, the word 'linéaire' is used to refer to the linear distance involved (vertical or horizontal) as opposed to the surface area of a reef. This might be best translated by 'tract'. HTH

linear reefs
I presume these artificial reefs are trying to replicate structures appropriate for the site's morphology and currents, with a view to increasing fish populations.
Discussion
Tortola, your reference refers to a freshwater river whereas a reef is necessarily in a tropical saltwater sea.
I did think of 'levels', but couldn't find any examples of use, and bear in mind that the "linéaire" could be horizontal AND/OR vertical.
