French term

P. Le Général

French to English Other Military / Defense Military title/abbreviation
This might be obvious, but I can't seem to find a definite answer on the internet. I'm translating an award (order of merit), and it's signed and stamped by 'P. Le Général Mahamat Yaya Oki Dagache'. Specifically, what does the 'P.' stand for? Is is part of a military title, or does it just stand for something like 'pour'?
