Greek term

γ.π.

Greek to English Medical Medical (general) Diagnostic Imaging MRI
This "γ.π." is right on the top right portion of a letter explaining the results of an MRI for one of the shoulders.

It stands alone right under the file and patient number (but under them not next to them)

Any idea on what "γ.π." would stand for?

Thanks!

"γενικό πρωτόκολλο" makes some sense

Μήπως είναι το γενικό πρωτόκολλο του νοσοκομείου;
Tina Baldwin (asker) Aug 9, 2008:
I don't think it could be "Γ.Π.Ν. Γενικό Περιφερειακό Νοσοκομείο" since the γ.π. is in small letters and on a portion of the page that makes it almost unnoticeable

could be the initials of the person that wrote the letter (why in small letters though???)

this little fellow is a tough one

The only possible explanation I found is Γ.Π.Ν. Γενικό Περιφερειακό Νοσοκομείο. Do you think it could be???

Maybe it's the initials of the secretary who typed up the the report. I know some centres have such a policy.

neutral Dr. Derk von Moock : This would be written in Capital letters.

Not necessarily. I've seen situations where the author of a document (in this case the doctor or MRI technician) puts his/her initials in capital letters, while the intials of the secretary who types it up are in small letters. Anyway, I'm just guessing.
agree Haralabos Papatheodorou : i agree that it could be the initials of the secretary and indeed in some cases are written in small letters

I have no idea what it means, but couldn't the γ. mean γενικής/γενικού ? Τα πεζά γράμματα δείχνουν ότι δεν πρόκειται για όνομα ή παρόμοιο.
