Explanation:
The "mensalidade" could be for anything, e.g. club membership, not necessarily for tuition, and not even necessarily for a service (so "fee" is not always appropriate). Also, I would like to observe that "por mês" is redundant in the sentence above, as the word "mensalidade" means monthly payments. Annual payments are "anuidades", termly payments are "semestralidades" and weekly payments - who knows, possibly "semanalidades"?
