Spanish term or phrase: circuito de las participantes en el estudio
Good evening

I'm translating titles to Informed consent forms with regards to clinical trials and I can't seem to find what 'circuito' means in this context. Here's the title:

'Procedimientos Operativos Estándares (POEs) del circuito de las participantes en el estudio.'

'Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the circuit of the study participants.'

Circuit doesn't seem right and I can't seem to find the term used anywhere in English.

Any help on this would be much appreciated :)

rotating cohort of study participants

Explanation:
Cohort had, pace Lirka, also been my first thought, circuito connoting to me a 'rotational' arrangement, as in company directors retiring by 'rotation'.

Example sentence(s):
  • Do you need to consider scheduling rotating cohorts?
  • Cohort Rotation Schedule by School Year.

disagree  liz askew: no mention of "rotating cohort" in the source. You are adding another meaning to the translation and it is incorrect.

The answer to the previous question, cited by Adrian, mentions 'journey' - though in that case it's the drug rather than the patient.

  -> They're patients receiving treatment. Participants is not 'more apt', it's just a synonym.

Explanation:
Even if it sound off you are correct. Circuit is a common word used in research. I am a research coordinator and I can assure you that you are on the right track.

Asker: Thanks so much Michelle! I received a bit more background and they suggested Procedure/Process (please see my comment at the top of this thread) But it is good to know that 'circuit' is acceptable terminology in the field! Thanks again :)
