Im Englischen entspricht/sprach dem Kilopond das "kilogram-force", abgekürzt kgf. Auch gibt es noch das "poundal", das ist die Kraft die ein 1 lb Objekt mit 1 ft/sec2 beschleunigt. Da aber Krafteinheiten im täglichen Leben kaum vorkommen, und auch englischen Wissenschaftler und Ingenieure sich das Leben nicht immer unnötig erschweren, wird es kaum gebraucht.
