Discussion

Christopher Schröder Jul 1, 2011:
future proof is fine in English
Patricia Nilsson (asker) Jul 1, 2011:
Lots of examples of it in Swedish. Trendy word. Didn't ck native language future proof. Were they for software?
George Hopkins Jul 1, 2011:
What What does it mean? Don't all insurances and suchlike refer to the future?
And how can anything be proofed against the future?
Is it possibly a question of sustainability?
JaneD Jul 1, 2011:
Well "future-proofed" was my first thought too; I don't think of it as Swenglish, and Google has plenty of native English uses of it, so I would use that, I think.

future-proofed

I know it has already been approved on in the discussion, but I wanted to confirm it myself as an answer. I have seen the term many times before, although there is no context, so I grade this a level 3

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "It has enough support. I put it in the text, maybe w/o the hyphen. Thanks!"

secured (for the future)

I'd only say secured actually
