"Drive" is not bad at all, but I like "motivation" better because it indicates some of the "kraft som driver"

agree E2efour (X) : Ok, but in the UK I feel we say either "to be motivated" (rather than "to have motivation") or "to have the motivation"

I would have guessed drive - but the dictionaries (same as before) propose these two. They both sound OK to me as a Swede - but you will have to decide if either of them are alright to use!
