From the context, which is a short list of substances in telegram style notes, I think these are sealants. The notes have to do with a medical device where leakage is a problem, and the listed substances are in fact "sealants". I've made sure that the word is not "lakstoffer", which could be "enamels", and would be close. Have not been able to find the word "Laekstoff" itself on the Internet at all. Is anyone able to confirm that these are sealants (a substance that seals against leakage)? Thanks in advance!

Most references refer to using proper packaging that don't give off or prevent lækstoffer/ leaking or leeching substances (leaking or leeching substances, such as wine corks leaking the cork taste into the wine. i.e. The wine cork is the lækstof in this case)

| Thank you very much. It was extremely helpful to have your input. This is very complex, which is also why I opted to ask this way. (Very sorry that points thus can't be given!) There is unfortunately no better context than what I gave above - these are keywords in some jotted notes re R&D for a medical device. As I understand it now, they do mean the full spectrum from fluid leak to leaching of molecules. I think I will stick with your direct translation, as it is the closest and can be found in other writing, although not exactly in the same context. |
