Portuguese term

"natural de".... "nascida em"

Portuguese to English Law/Patents Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs
Hi everyone,

I am translating a marriage certificate that specifies that the bride is "natural de".... and "nascida em", now wouldnt these two be translated simply as "born in"... but that would make it repetitive.

Any difference in the translation of these two terms?

Thank you in advance,

Thank you. Yes, that makes sense... as I normally only see one of the two terms stated in ,my question when translating certificates... I usually simply translate both as "born in"...
Gad Kohenov Sep 17, 2008:
Maybe? Native of = natural de and born in = nascida em ?

"natural from" and "born in"

"Natural de" usually refers to the district and city (concelho, cidade e freguesia) where one is from (do not confuse with nacionality).

"Born in" may refer to the city itself.
Example sentence:

Naturalidade portuguesa

I am from (was born in) Lisbon, Portugal.
