Spanish term

acerolit

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.)
"techos de laminas de acerolit" from a Venezuelan risk survey.

I presume that it has something to do with steel. Perhaps light steel or thin steel?

Acerolit (galvanized sheet roofs)

Acerolit is apparently a brand name:

Lámina galvanizada forrada
· Acerolit
· Acerotec
· Cindulit 180
(http://grupoimper.com.mx/laminas.htm)

(There are some pictures on this page.)

Judging by the description, you could probably use the above expression in your text.

A recent survey of more than 40 chicken and turkey confinement buildings indicated that hot dip galvanized sheet roofing panels with G90-G125 coatings performed well for about 15 years before the onset of significant amounts of red rust. (www.bethsteel.com/customers/products/galv_tech_8.shtml)

Hope it helps.
