Ahmet is a very good friend of mine. We always return the favour. No dodgy business, I can assure you.

we will need each others help, we need each other's backup

Here in this Turkish term unlike Azeri Language, **birbirimize işimiz düşer *** means actually, * anytime we needed each others help*** which is talking mainly inthe past tense, but also could be use or connected to present but, but in this term it is a past tense.
(Ahment çok sağlam arkadaşımdır)[arkadaşımdır] is a past tense for was a good friend.
so the sentence would be;
....was a good friend, anytime we needed anything from one another
[needed help, needed back up] the answer was never a NO.

**birbirimize işimiz düşer *** a directer translation of the term would also be; anytime there a matter that involved the other party. ( iş) an azeri term for work imported into Turkish. (düşer) [ to fall, to land] & finally (birbirimize) [ to each other, each other, for each other *depending on the sentence, before and the after being negative or positive in structure. Example sanan man hich vagt biribirimiza yardem etmaduk, { each other in this context} sanan man biribirimiza chokh ehtiyajimiz var { for each other}.....
