I´m doing an academic work in linguistics about the arabic/portuguese verbal system. Can anybody explain me, how is possible that some verbs in the acusative can have two direct objects or three? For instances in a phrase like: Hassan gave Muhammad two books.

Hi Teresa,
I'm afraid your question isn't very clear, which may be why you haven't received replies yet. When you say "how is it possible that some verbs in the acusative can have two direct objects or three?" what do you want to know? It's just possible that's all. The example sentence you mentioned "Hassan gave Muhammad two books" in Arabic would be: أعطى حسن محمداً كتابين (Aata Hassan Muhammadan kitabayn) with both "Muhammad" and "two books" in the accusative (maf'ul bihi). There's probably a more detailed linguistic explanation for that, but I am unable to provide that I'm afraid. Maybe if you clarify your question someone else can.
