I´m doing an academic work in linguistics about the arabic/portuguese verbal system. Can anybody explain me, how is possible that some verbs in the acusative can have two direct objects or three? For instances in a phrase like: Hassan gave Muhammad two books.

أعطى حسن محمداً كتابين
(Aata Hassan Muhammadan kitabayn)
with both "Muhammad" and "two

Good luck
