Una del montón

Spanish to English Art/Literary Idioms / Maxims / Sayings Announcement for Street performance in Spain
"Una del montón" es un espectáculo de danza, poesía y music basado en la obra poética de Wislawa Szymborska, nacida en Polonia en 1923 y Premio Nobel de Literatura en el año 1996.

I would appreciate suggestions for the translation of this title. I have a few ideas but would love some creative input. TIA!

Discussion

Lydia De Jorge (asker) Oct 2, 2010:
HH, Give yourself a little credit... I know the expression is not your personal creation, but it was quite clever to connect two expressions that are completely different and yet mean the same thing.
Henry Hinds Oct 1, 2010:
A Face in the Crowd Not so much genius, it's a fairly common expression I've heard often, and also the title of a movie I had never seen or even heard of until I found a reference to it on Google.
Lydia De Jorge (asker) Oct 1, 2010:
A big THANK YOU to all for your suggestions! After consulting with the client (I did not want to make the decision) I will keep Henry's suggestion, which, I might add, is genius!
Lydia De Jorge (asker) Sep 30, 2010:
More context: Una del Montón parte de la soledad. Cuatro individuos se encuentran en un mismo lugar metafórico, un espacio de soledad, de realidades agrias, de repetición de gestos y sonidos interrumpidos. Despacio, a través del movimiento, van abriendo ventanas que hacen desaparecer la asfixia del día a día, creando una nueva manera de observarte y de mirar el mundo. Aparece la magia de la revelación, de la sonrisa, del amor que lo inunda todo, empezando por el individuo para poder llegar al mundo.
Many thanks to all for your very creative suggestions!

A Face in the Crowd

Lo que ofrezco como aportación a una lluvia de ideas nada más, pues no conozco la obra y por lo tanto, no me inspiro en la misma.

* ok obviously should read "very special"
and "would be helpful"
sorry about the typos!
Note from asker:
Thanks for your input. I believe though, that this expression is the opposite, as 'del monton' means 'common'. Saludos!
Peer comment(s):

disagree Rosa Paredes : This would be the opposite...

Simple: She is a strong woman, with a history behind her. After reading Wislawa Szymborska you can understand many things about real life.

Jane Doe

As this phrase is offensive in Spanish, I would shy away from "one in a million". The male equivalent would be "Un Don Nadie", being "Joe Bloggs" in the UK or "John Doe" in the USA.
