Nel 1859 a Napoli insorgono gli svizzeri del 3° Reggimento di Linea, presto seguiti da quelli del 1° e del 2°, a causa del divieto emesso dal governo svizzero di prestare servizio in paesi stranieri e la condanna di coloro che avessero continuato a farlo. I mercenari in rivolta sono dispersi dal fuoco di altre unità, compresi il 4° Reggimento di Linea Svizzero ed il XIII Battaglione Cacciatori Svizzero, ordinato dal generale Nunziante.

cacciatori = chasseurs. As my reference text says:
Six regiments of chasseurs were formed of foreigners:
16e - Belgians.
19e - Swiss, later of Italians.
26e - formed in 1802 of Italians.
27e - formed in 1808 of Belgians and Germans.
28e - formed in 1808 of Italians.
30e - formed in Feb 1811 of Germans, in June became the 9e Chevau-Legers Lanciers.
The 13th seems to be missing from this list.
However searching French sources I came upon this link, which states "Malgré l’interdiction de recrutement, le service de Naples rencontre un tel succès qu’on est en mesure d’adjoindre un troisième bataillon à chaque régiment et de former, en 1850, le 13ème Chasseurs suisses."

According to my French reference, this batallion was formed in 1850, the year mentioned in the OP's source text. Maybe the building was requisitioned as the HQ for this new 13th batallion.

: Regiment and battalion are different things. One of my texts says: il 4° Reggimento di Linea Svizzero ed il XIII Battaglione Cacciatori Svizzero, ordinato dal generale Nunziante. Meaning the regiment and the battalion were separate units.
