Associate Lawyer
Legal Support Solicitor: not under-qualified, but often married women lawyers working part-time.
The assessorin juris I once worked with at a law firm in Hamburg - pace others who have worked with such venerable and venerated lawyers - had def. been newly qualified as in my last weblinked answer and carried an implicit message: *caution: newly qualified with no PQE > post-qualification experience*.
Ein Of Counsel (englisch of counsel ‚in beratender Funktion'; Plural meist auch Of Counsel; oft kurz Counsel) ist ein Berufsträger in einer Rechtsanwaltskanzlei oder einem ähnlichen Unternehmen...
("Volljurist" or "Assessor"), law school graduates have to *complete a two-year rotation clerkship*.

: This would work as an explanatory translations in brackets following the DE term; trying to force any more "equivalence" from the term is dangerous imo

Thanks, Chris. In my day in the City, there had also been 'Assistant Solicitors' who have now 'graduated' to Associates or the aforementioned Legal Support Lawyers.

: No, that is one of many posts that a person with this qualification might occupy; too specific and restrictive

: I would not post this as an answer. It is not good enough for that. Not even the grading comment "fully qualified lawyer who has passed both state examinations" or Allegro's work really cut it although they just about get close to the heart of the matter.

: with "fully qualified lawyer" ... aber Achtung: keinesfalls "J.D." - das entspricht dem "Dr.jur.", also eine Stufe weiter - ein Ass.jur. hat noch keine Promotion!

: Useful discussion etc. and asker needs to beware of "equivalents" as with all professional qualifications and job titles
