Spanish term

«¡Al ladrón!»

Spanish to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature Literature.
I would like to know the best translation of this phrase from Latin American Spanish into American English. Translator colleagues from Spain, feel free to send me your suggestions as well. This is a translation about the story of Ali Baba and the 40 thieves.

Is okay to translate it as"to the thief""

Here is the full paragraph for your review:

Sin detenerse un instante, Semes se colocó frente a la cueva y dijo las palabras que Alí Babá le había contado, al instante, mientras la puerta se abría, la guardia se abalanzó sobre Semes gritando «¡Al ladrón!» y lo capturó sin contemplaciones, aunque Semes intentó explicarles porque estaba allí, estos no le creyeron porque estaban convencidos de que el último ladrón sabiendo que sus compañeros estaban presos, inventaría cualquier cosa para poder disfrutar él solo del botín

"Stop thief!"

Without pausing for a moment, Semes stood in front of the cave and said the words that Ali Baba had told him to say, right on cue, as the door opened, the guard pounced on Semes shouting "Stop thief!" and captured him unceremoniously, although Semes tried to explain why he was there, they did not believe him because they were convinced that the last of the thieves, knowing that his companions were already captured, would concoct any story to enjoy the loot on his own.
