Discussion

jads (asker) Jan 9, 2013:
Thanks for your effort anyway!
philgoddard Jan 9, 2013:
OK, no play on words in that case!
jads (asker) Jan 9, 2013:
Sorry Phil Goddard...Both hardware and software for the food production industry.
philgoddard Jan 9, 2013:
But what IT? Hardware, software -- what kind? I'm asking because I wondered whether there was a play on words.
jads (asker) Jan 9, 2013:
Ellen Singer, I quite like your suggestion 'You can bank on it'. Will consider it. Thankyou.
jads (asker) Jan 9, 2013:
It's an IT company.
philgoddard Jan 9, 2013:
What kind of company is it?

The Dutch has more to it than one would think. Afrekenen means to settle, which, therefore, means that if you do not get what is promised you need not pay. They are stating that they deliver what they promise and that you can bank on it!

It is sort of a money-back guarantee..... but not in so many words!
Alexander Schleber (X) Jan 9, 2013:
Hi Steven, As someone pointedly noted the other day, I am also not a "native speaker" - just 20 years of experience at translating NL. It's good you made an effort! ;-) Keep on ...
