Anytime!
Non-ProZ.com Apr 14, 2005:
thanks, deb! Just wanted to make sure
Deborah do Carmo Apr 14, 2005:
I went of course with the second meaning but the first would indicate it is rank and therefore what you are possibly looking for
Deborah do Carmo Apr 14, 2005:
MAINLY UK

1. line manager someone who is responsible for managing someone else in a company or business

2 one of the managers who are responsible for the most important activities of a large company, such as productio
Non-ProZ.com Apr 14, 2005:
I'm not sure. This a general term, not a specific one like 'General manager, Operational manager'. Is line manager a level? (like employee, supervisor, ...)
Deborah do Carmo Apr 14, 2005:
then Rob's answer is fine - thanks :-)
Non-ProZ.com Apr 14, 2005:
No, this refers to a rank, level,.... not to any production line
Deborah do Carmo Apr 14, 2005:
Hi Pierre, is there any production line at play in your text?

Good morning, Pierre. This is my first thought, but like Deborah requests, could you provide us with more info? Cheers, R.

Dear Deborah: thanks for making me laugh before I turn to my own workload. Courage, amie (eh, that is if my rudimentary French is still accurate... you get the gist.) Cheers, R.
agree Francina : Yes "line manager" is a level. http://www.futureconsiderations.com/whoareyou/director_line_...

Hi, Kate. Nice to 'hear' from you again. :-)
agree Ljiljana Malovic : One more example: "If an employee rings in sick, it is important that you as their line manager take the call personally."
